Who is Er Count?
Rausseo, 62, is better known as “Er Conde del Guácharo” and his foray into politics surprised in 2006 when he launched his candidacy against former President Hugo Chávez Frías and the then opposition standard-bearer, Governor Manuel Rosales.
“Er Conde” has been the essence of his career for almost four decades, he explained to the press. He is a character with an accent from eastern Venezuela whose humor contains insolence among the daily lives of the Venezuelan, including his relationship with politics and the government.
One of Rausseo’s challenges will be to show people that his proposal “is not a game” and, furthermore, verify his transition from comedian to politician with presidential potential.
His presidential candidacy tries to captivate the so-called “ni-ni”, that is, those Venezuelans who do not support the government or its opponents.
