Eric sings to Michelle: “We knew we were looking for each other and we found each other”
“If you are not surprised, I want to take care of him now,” said presenter Florian Silbereisen to the Schlager star. “You know, yesterday at the rehearsal, I asked you questions from our audience and then Eric sang a song from his brand new album ‘We’re still waiting’,” Florian continues to praise. “Today everything will be different. Because Eric has planned a very special surprise for us.” The couple has been together since 2023 at the earliest.
After the speech, Eric appears on stage and plays lines like “we knew, we were looking for each other and we found each other” or “and I hear them talking about us”. The song is about the “9000 days” that Michelle is older than the singer in terms of age – the couple has a 25 age difference. They often had to endure hate comments because of this, but these could not affect their love, as Eric and Michelle tell us in “Schlagerboom“.
