The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced a new legal proposal that aims to facilitate deportations and improve cooperation between member states.
This initiative seeks to make the process of deportation more efficient, in response to the demands of several countries in the European Union that are facing increasing challenges in relation to irregular migration, especially Italy.
Von der Leyen emphasized that the proposal falls within the scope of strengthening the ability to deal with issues related to immigration, and to ensure that deportations are carried out faster and simpler.
This step is seen as part of the European Union’s wider efforts to improve immigration policies, with European institutions aiming to strike a balance between protecting the rights of migrants and enforcing immigration-related laws. .
