Euroradio and Malanka Media are planning to create a new TV channel with the working title Belarus today. As the founder of Malanka Media Pavel Marynich explained in a comment to Belsat, “there are currently not enough video and television projects in the Belarusian media field, which was the reason for the idea to create another TV channel.”
“The only independent television project today is the Polish project of Belsat, of the Polish government. But there is no Belarusian one that would be founded by Belarusians,” says the head of Malanka.
Pavel Marinich refused to talk about the details of the future TV channel at the current stage, since there is nothing concrete yet; the project, he says, so far exists only at the level of plans and discussions.
“I can’t tell you anything because nothing has been done yet. And if there are any plans, they are still being discussed. This is our dream – that’s all I can say. And a great desire to make public television. Such as “Suspilne” in Ukraine,” the media manager noted.
Some time ago, Pavel Marinich spoke about plans to create a Belarusian news agency. Work on it is underway, assures the head of Malanka Media.
“We doing this. But this is not something that is done in one minute, it is work that has been done for a long time. Nothing happens right away. To have a news agency, you need journalists inside the country, you need a base,” says Marinich.
