This interview takes place on the sidelines of the 28th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (OAAC).
During this meeting, emphasis was placed in particular on the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of air transport through air links between the Kingdom’s airports and that of Rafic Hariri in Beirut, as well as in the maritime transport sector, Mr. Hamieh told the press.
He also announced that he had extended an invitation to Mr. Abdeljalil to visit Lebanon with a view to deepening discussions on strengthening this cooperation.
The Lebanese minister also congratulated Morocco for the good organization of the 28th General Assembly of the OAAC, reiterating his thanks to the Kingdom for the assistance provided to his country, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, following the explosion from the port of Beirut in 2020.
For his part, Mr. Abdeljalil recalled the strong ties of fraternity uniting Morocco and Lebanon, noting that these exchanges were an opportunity to agree on the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of transport.
In particular, it is a question of reestablishing the air link between the two countries, and of promoting maritime cooperation between Moroccan and Lebanese ports, he specified.
Furthermore, Mr. Abdeljalil subsequently held discussions with the Malaysian Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Haji Hasbi Bin Haji Habibollah on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of Transport.
