McLaren Racing drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris spoke with “tough” words about the mechanics of the Red Bull Racing car.
The developments outside of competition in the world of Formula 1 continue without interruption and with great interest. Just before the action begins at US Grand Prix there was concern over illegal team activity in the three-day parc-ferme races.
As it turns out, the Red Bull Racing car has a mechanism that allows it to change the front ground clearance of the floor. This is outside the regulations as stated by FIAhowever, there was no indication that the Austrian team was acting out of bounds.

With great attention being paid to the matter, the questions also started for the drivers. THE Oscar Piastri her MacLaren was asked about such an engineer, and the Australian said: “It is clear that as a team we are pushing the limits of the technical regulations. All the teams do it and that’s what makes F1 what it is. But from what I have heard and what I have been told, this part does not push the limits of the regulations but exceeds the technical regulations. I haven’t heard what car it’s in or if there is any, but there are definitely reports. But if such a thing is used then it does not push the regulations, nor is it in a gray area. He has a black belt.”
OR Red Bull a spokesman confirmed that he has created a plan with the FIA after discussions that both sides had, with all that is involved. Two Piastre but there is a difference between smart solutions and illegal actions, even giving an example: “If there is a big difference in performance then obviously some questions need to be asked. If not, then I don’t know what to do. The rear spoiler we had in Baku was legal. We may have had to make changes, but it was nothing new for our car.”

Piastri’s teammate moved in the same direction with statements, Lando Norris: “It’s one thing to have such a device in your car and another to take advantage of it and use it. I don’t know if that happens. It is good that the FIA is stepping in. There is a difference between black and white and a difference in pushing the boundaries of regulations by inventing new ideas within a framework that you are allowed to do.”
