Fantastic NASA Helicopter Recovers Wreckage of a Mysterious Spacecraft from Mars

by time news

NASA’s remarkable helicopter has re-illuminated the strange but incredible images of the wreckage of the NASA rover that helped bring it to the Red Planet last year.

Reported by CBS News, Ingenuity, the first helicopter to fly to another planet, took the Perseverance Wreck and these 10 color aerial photos. NASA believes the images “have the potential to help ensure safe landings for future spacecraft.”

The tenacious rear parachute and supersonic parachute in the images helped the spacecraft navigate safely through the Martian atmosphere. Although the landing was very successful, these areas did some expected damage upon landing.

“The cameras were hard at work on the best-documented Mars landing in history, showing everything from boom swells to Touch Down,” said JPL’s Ian Clark, a former Perseverance Systems engineer who is now leading the Mars model’s comeback level. “But creativity photos present a different opportunity. It would be amazing if our systems could enhance the way we think they work or provide a database of engineering information that can be used to re-engineer the Mars model. Otherwise, the photos will be more exciting and inspiring.”

The parachute contained a secret message that was decrypted last year and was discovered to contain the secret message “Dare to do brave things”, which was used by the diligence team.

Perseverance was launched on July 30, 2020, and successfully landed on Mars on February 18, 2021. Its purpose is to search for signs of living conditions and search for signs of microbial life in the past.
