by time news

BerlinThe terrible accident on one of the busiest streets in the middle of downtown Berlin has not yet been forgotten – mainly because of the fatal consequences. On the evening of September 6, 2019, an SUV sped onto the sidewalk on Invalidenstrasse in Mitte at over 100 kilometers per hour. The vehicle tore metal bollards from their anchorages, cut a traffic light mast. The car, which weighed tons, was thrown through the air, overturned and killed four people: a three-year-old boy, his 64-year-old grandma, and two men, 28 and 29 years old. They had waited at the traffic lights for the green light.
