If the D1 Arkema clash between PSG and Olympique Lyonnais kept all its promises on Sunday, an incident in the stands tarnishes this meeting. Monday October 2, the feminist association The Degommeuses and the environmentalist municipal councilor of Paris, Alice Coffin, denounced on Paris and Lyon.

“Last night, we were with Les Dégommeuses (collective against discrimination in sport, Editor’s note) at the Parc des Princes for PSG-Lyon,” testified Alice Coffin, supporting video. “We displayed a banner in support of Jenni Hermoso and Kadidiatou Diani who denounced sexual assaults. This was followed by a violent response from PSG security.”

In the video, a security agent asks Alice Coffin, seated, to accompany him to the exit, before attempting to take him away by force when she refuses, under the strong protest of the audience.

“The banner said ‘JENNI, KADI, WE BELIEVE YOU’ #SeAcabo” (“it’s over”), said Alice Coffin. The slogan was used by the players of the Spanish selection after the scandal of the forced kiss on Jenni Hermoso by the president of the Spanish Federation Luis Rubiales, who resigned on September 10. Kadidiatou Diani, for her part, filed a complaint in June for sexual assault against former PSG coach Didier Ollé-Nicolle, and a preliminary investigation was opened by the Versailles prosecutor’s office. The two players, who now play respectively at CF Pachuca (Mexico) and Olympique Lyonnais, are two former PSG players.

“Much cooler with homophobic chants than with ‘we believe you’

“We handed her over to law enforcement when he arrived. The action was peaceful,” assured Alice Coffin. “We emphasized that it was a feminist message, which denounced attacks, and that responding with other attacks was very symbolic.”

According to her, “the head of security who came to calm his troops, unfortunately a little late, recognized that the intervention methods were dysfunctional.”

And the environmentalist concluded, in reference to the chants sung by thousands of ultras during the match against Marseille on September 24, which remained without sanction from the club: “PSG you are obviously much cooler with homophobic chants than ‘with the ‘we believe you’ that we chanted.”

A reference to the incidents of last week on the sidelines of the “Clasico” between PSG and OM in Ligue 1. While the Parisians were leading 4 to 0, homophobic chants were sung by the “ultras” from the stand. Auteuil. Videos were quickly broadcast on social networks and aroused the indignation of LGBT+ associations and members of the government. PSG reacted by indicating that the club “condemns all forms of discrimination, in particular homophobia, and wishes to point out that they have their place neither in stadiums nor in society”.

On the other hand, contacted by AFP, PSG had not followed up at midday Monday on the incidents with the security service.
