Things are currently going very well in Formula 1 for Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. Only his mechanic had a small accident in Mexico.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc continues to be in good shape in Formula 1. After his victory at the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas last week, the Monegasque seems to be able to be at the forefront of the race in Mexico. In the third free practice session he was in the leading group for a long time and ended up in sixth place.
But his chief mechanic Alessandro Fusaro in the pit lane attracted more attention than Leclerc on the track. The Italian was just about to show Leclerc into the lane as he exited the pits, as is usual in Formula 1. Fusaro quickly ran backwards in front of the car.
But suddenly he stumbled. The attempt to stay on his feet failed and Fusaro sat down roughly on the seat of his pants. But he had a solution ready. Fusaro converted his fall into a backwards roll in one fluid movement and even managed to get straight back up to a standing position. Without hesitation, he immediately continued his instructions for Leclerc.
The driver watched the whole thing from his cockpit and found the action extremely amusing. On the pit radio he commented in Italian “Bella questa”, which in German means something like “that was good” or “not bad”, before he sped away in his Ferrari.
The video of the incident was shared several times on the Internet, including by Formula 1’s official X account. The video also shows Fusaro giving a thumbs up to the camera after his fall to signal that he did nothing during the action. So the Formula 1 fans could laugh without a guilty conscience.
