General Motors (GM) will operate the team under the Cadillac brand. As part of the previously rejected Andretti project, which was not accepted as the eleventh team, GM announced that it wanted to develop its own drive.
However, this project should not be implemented until 2028, which required an option driving solution for the first two years of entry.
Ferrari has always had two sets of customers

Ferrari teamcher Frederic Vasseur said: “It is indeed great to see the commitment of another American team with the support of one of the most respected brands in the automotive industry – at a time when Formula 1 is becoming more popular in the United States.”
The collaboration means “we will continue to have two ‘customer teams’,with all the advantages this brings to technical advancement at Ferrari.”
Lowdon sees Ferrari as the best option
The proclamation of the Ferrari deal is the next vital step for GM and TWG Global’s Formula 1 project in the formation of their new team.Last week the brands announced the appointment of Graeme Lowdon, who once headed Maiden/Marussia/Manor, as team principal.
Lowdon has played a key role in the development of the project over the past three years and is excited about the collaboration with Ferrari: “We are delighted to be working with Ferrari as the powertrain and transmission supplier for our Cadillac team, uniting two meaningful legacies. .”
“Choosing the right power partner is crucial and we trust the passion, excellence and exceptional skills of the Ferrari people.”
