The participants in this meeting, organized in partnership with the faculty of legal, economic and social sciences of Fez, the faculty of legal and political sciences of Kénitra and the regional human rights commission in Fez-Meknes in collaboration with the office regional club of magistrates in Morocco, stressed that the centenary of the promulgation of the first legislative text regulating the profession of lawyer in Morocco constitutes an important step to examine the situation of the profession and the prospects for its development in the context of the professional competition and the establishment of modern dispute resolution, training and digitalization mechanisms.

In this context, they took stock of the different stages which marked the legal organization of the legal profession from January 10, 1924 until the adoption of law 28.08 regulating the legal profession and the law No. 29.08 on the organization of law firms, emphasizing the important role played by lawyers in the field of justice in Morocco.

In a statement to MAP, the president of the regional association of young lawyers in Fez, Rachid Sebti, indicated that the legal profession has been marked by the adoption of several legislative provisions since the promulgation of the first legislative text regulating the profession in 1924.

Mr. Sebti added that this meeting aims to debate the texts regulating the profession and their adaptation to the transformations experienced by Moroccan society, as well as ways to develop the status of lawyers, emphasizing the importance of the role of lawyers in defense. interests of citizens.

The program of this meeting included debates on several themes including the centenary of the legislative organization of the legal profession, the regulatory issues of the profession and the prospects for accelerating institutional transformation, the competitiveness of the legal profession. lawyer, professional ethics as well as the economic, social, judicial and administrative climate of the legal profession.
