Eilat to Receive NIS 50 Million in Business Assistance and Flight Subsidies

In a landmark agreement reached today, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Eilat Mayor Eli Lankri have concluded a plan to provide NIS 50 million in business assistance, flight subsidies, and tourism encouragement to the residents of Eilat. The package of benefits includes an extension of aid for businesses in the city for January-February, subsidizing flights for residents, and NIS 50 million to promote tourism in the city.

Minister Smotrich expressed his dedication to Eilat, stating, “The city, which is mainly based on tourism, is going through difficult challenges in this period, all this alongside the generous and wide hospitality of the residents of the surrounding area and the south in its hotels.” The agreement aims to help the city, its residents, and business owners overcome the current period of adversity and continue to thrive in the years to come.

Eilat Mayor Eli Lankri also expressed his gratitude for the agreement, saying, “Today we bring great news to businesses in Eilat and to the residents of the city, which will help to overcome the crisis the city is going through following the war, as well as great news to all the residents of the city in determining the price of the domestic flight for the first time as public transportation.”
