Get hyped for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth as Apex Legends is set to receive an exciting crossover with the Final Fantasy 7 franchise. The collaboration will bring a host of new features and gameplay elements to the popular battle royale game.
Announced by developer Respawn Entertainment, the collaboration will introduce Cloud’s trademark Buster Sword, Materia drops, and even a Nessie summon to the Apex Games. To further hype up the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, a limited-time mode called Final Fantasy 7 Takeover will replace unranked battle royale in Apex Legends from Jan. 9-30.
In the limited-time mode, players will be able to wield a version of Buster Sword to block bullets, dash-and-slash, and unleash a devastating Limit Break attack. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to grab Materia Hop-Ups from Apex’s walking loot boxes, known as “Cacticks.”
The Materia will confer special powers upon Legends, including the ability to heal themselves, emit a shock nova, increase critical damage, summon a Nessie companion, and see the remaining health of enemies. This collaboration will also bring a host of new cosmetics, including character skins and alternate outfits.
The collab will bring a fresh and exciting experience to players of both Apex Legends and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and is sure to be a hit among fans of both games.
