Pakistan wins first Twenty20 cricket match between West Indies

The West Indies will play three ODIs and three ODIs against Pakistan.

The first Twenty20 cricket match between Pakistan and the West Indies was scheduled to take place in Karachi yesterday as four members of the West Indies squad were left isolated due to corona damage.

West Indies won the toss and elected to field Batting first, Pakistan captain Babur Assam took no runs and Bahar Zaman lost by 10 runs in a row. Mohammad Riswan (78, 52 off 10 balls, 10 fours) and Haider Ali (68, 39 off 39 balls, 6 fours, 4 sixes) were the main contributors to the team’s loss of 2 wickets in 35 overs (4.5 overs). Recovered from and raised to a strong position.

Pakistan scored 200 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Mohammad Nawaz was on the field for 30 off 10 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

The West Indies then rolled to 137 in 19 overs with a target of 201 to win. Pakistan won by 63 runs. For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim took 4 wickets and Shatabkhan took 3 wickets.

The win gave Pakistan a 1-0 lead in the series. The 2nd over 20 match between the two teams will be played at the same venue today (6.30 pm).
