The Chevrolet Blazer EV is a new electric SUV that shares nothing but its name with the conventional Blazer that received a facelift in the United States earlier this year. Chevrolet does not yet share exact dimensions and extensive technical specifications of its electrified blazer, but it is clear that the American brand from Detroit strives for contact with the neighbors in the Ford company, the Mustang Mach E model, which has been sold for a long time, and has gained many customers.
In the United States, the Blazer is available in four versions, including the SS (Super Sport), which will be at the edge of supply. The SS package produces 565 hp and 90 kg and has a mode called Wide open watts, in which the electric system is dedicated only to performance and launches it at a speed of 100 km / h in less than 4 seconds (a kind of launch control). Estimated at 470 kilometers on a full charge, although the size of its Altium battery is unknown and its full charge duration and only stated by the manufacturer that 80 kilometers can be returned to the battery in 10 minutes.
Other technologies on board are in the form of autonomous Super Cruise driving, with the cosmetic equipment wearing 22-inch rims, reinforced with Brembo brakes and distinguished by a sporty motif on the outside (various bumpers and blackened-red cladding).
Chevrolet will also supply the electric blazer in “relaxed” versions, which should be able to travel around 400 and even 515 kilometers until the battery runs out. The basic version uses only front-wheel drive, above which is a version that is available with both dual and front-wheel drive (depending on the package). The mid-range RS version is available with rear, front or dual propulsion and the upper SS version has dual dual propulsion only.
All versions are capable of charging up to 190 kilowatts from the terminals, and the cabin has a 17.7-inch main multimedia screen and an 11-inch digital dashboard. Chevrolet’s design takes inspiration from time to time and with a bit of imagination on the German side, the air vents seem to be reminiscent of the pattern that Mercedes-Benz uses in its models, although in general it can be said that the design of the Chevrolet EV’s driving environment looks pretty original.
The price for the electric blazer will start at $ 50,000 next summer, while the RS version will market at $ 65,000. It is very early to know when we will meet him in Israel. It will go up for serial production at the Chevrolet Mexico plant in Ramos Arizpe.
