Flares caused a power outage, the final game was stopped

by time news

Not only in the seniors: During the final game of the youth basketball premier league between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Gilboa / Ma’ainot, torches were lit that led to a power outage in the “Tichont” hall and caused the game to be stopped for a long time.

The unusual incident occurred during the third quarter and in addition to the power outage, the hall was filled with smoke and the teams had to go down to the locker rooms. After the electricity came back, the teams waited for the smoke to dissipate and only then did they return to warm up and play basketball.

It should be noted that the chairman of the basketball association, Amiram Halevi, was in the hall, along with representatives of the league’s administration and the managements of the two teams – among them Rami Cohen, a member of the league’s board of directors.
