News and confirmations for the summer spaces that will be announced for the three-year period 2021-2022-2023: among the new entries there are Piazza del Carmine and the Amphitheater delle Cascine, while Parco dell’Anconella and Argingrosso are also competing, as in previous years. The extensions of some spaces that remained closed last year due to Covid have been confirmed, such as Parterre, Piazza Tasso, Piazzale Michelangelo, Arno beach. This is what is foreseen by a resolution approved today by the municipal council on the proposal of the councilor for culture Tommaso Sacchi.
«Summer 2021 will necessarily be transitional – says Sacchi – waiting for a normalization of post-pandemic life. Despite this, we have tried to do everything possible not to penalize the many citizens who will remain in Florence in the summer, confirming the event of the Estate Fiorentina, which closed the call a few days ago which collected over 200 questions now being examined by the examining commission, and the call for spaces, which will be released shortly. We have added new places, such as the pedestrian Piazza del Carmine and the amphitheater, much loved by the Florentines and a little neglected in recent years. These spaces, in the center as well as in the suburbs, will host initiatives of cultural and social value so as to be redeveloped and to prevent any situations of degradation. All the proposals – he continued – will be evaluated above all for the quality of the cultural proposal they will offer and the organizers must scrupulously adhere to the health safety measures provided for ».
The public notice will concern the areas of Parco dell’Anconella, Giardino dell’Orticoltura, Giardino delle Rose, Parco dell’Argingrosso, Piazza del Carmine and the Amphitheater of the Cascine / Prato delle Cornacchie. The projects will be evaluated by a specially appointed Technical Commission, which will express itself according to the following guidelines: quality and consistency of the artistic, cultural and recreational proposal; coherence of the artistic, cultural and recreational proposal, in relation to the characteristics and peculiarities of the place and its historical, architectural and environmental context; adequacy of the set-ups to the cultural proposal presented and the capacity of the structure to host institutional events and / or co-promoted by the municipal administration; organization of meetings or actions that promote the issues of environmental sustainability and road safety.
Some concessions are provided, such as the reduction of the fee for the occupation of public land, equal to 80% . For the Cascine Amphitheater, the concession will be free of charge by virtue of the realization by the assignee of the necessary interventions to maintain the accessibility of public entertainment.
The owners of the summer spaces assigned in 2020 which have been extended to 2021 or Parterre Area, Niccolò Galli Garden (Viale M. Fanti), Fortezza da Basso-Swan Bath, Piazza dei Tre Re, Piazza Tasso, Piazzale Michelangelo, Arno Beach / Marasco Terrace, Lungarno del Tempio-left area of the Affrico exit; Ponte San Niccolò, Piazza Le Murate, Garden of Via Salvi Cristiani, will have the opportunity to occupy a larger portion of public land, where possible, in order to allow adequate social distancing, in compliance with the following requirements: – that the dedicated area the refreshment area must be a minority with respect to the area intended for artistic, cultural and recreational programming; – that the 80% reduction of the rent for the occupation of public spaces and areas will in any case be applied to the most occupied areas; – that the assignees, for the current year, must submit a cultural program in accordance with the prescriptions and security measures anticovid-19 that is in any case responsive to the cultural guidelines approved during the selection as well as a precise and detailed safety plan accompanied by a general layout plan in which any increased occupations of public land must be highlighted, containing all the measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in force at the time of the start of the activities subject to the concession.
