“After nine years of joy, fun, experience, maturity, friendships, challenges, passion and ‘Happy New Year’, I have decided to leave the team of the production ‘The Big New Year’s Eve Show’ on ARD, SRF and ORF as a presenter” – With these words Francine Jordi announced her departure from the show in March.
In the summer, her co-host Hans Sigl announced that she would no longer be there at the turn of the year. “The Bergdoktor” star no longer has time to accompany ARD viewers into the new year due to his filming schedule and other projects.
But the broadcaster has already found a successor – and is relying on his all-purpose weapon: Florian Silbereisen. Just a few weeks ago it was announced that the presenter would also present major ARD shows in 2025 and 2026. Among other things, eight editions of his “Feste” series are produced for ARD.
As the production company Jürgens TV confirmed to the industry magazine “DWDL”, there is now another Silbereisen show: “New Year’s Eve Schlagerbooom – The Magic Light Show!” will not only be shown on the first, but also on ORF and SRF – and live from the FC Bayern Munich basketball arena.
This is a change from the station’s previous concept, because in recent years “The Big New Year’s Eve Show” has always been pre-recorded in November and broadcast at the turn of the year. According to the report, only a one-off edition of the “New Year’s Eve Schlagerbooom” is planned. It is not yet known which artists presenter Florian Silbereisen will welcome.
