Among these infractions, 1,068 were the subject of warnings to offenders, while 5,340 reports were drawn up and transmitted to the competent courts, specifies the Management in a press release on the holding, Wednesday, of the 4th meeting of the month of Ramadan of the Interministerial Commission responsible for monitoring supply, prices and control operations.
These operations carried out by local commissions, chaired by the Ministry of the Interior at the level of prefectures and provinces, led to the control of 93,477 points of production, storage and wholesale and retail sales, allowing the seizure and destruction of 456 tonnes of products unfit for consumption or not compliant with current regulatory standards.
The control bodies of the various departments will continue their work on a regular basis even after the end of the month of Ramadan, in order to ensure the normal functioning of the markets and to fight against all forms of fraud, monopoly and speculation which could harm the consumer interests.
This commission met under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in the presence of representatives of the ministerial departments responsible for the Interior, Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, Industry and Commerce, of the Energy Transition and the public establishments concerned.
