LIBREVILLE, October 27, 2024 (AGP) – Former Gabonese footballers and leaders organized, Saturday October 26, a football meeting at the Monedan stadium in Libreville, around the theme “Brotherly love never fades”, in memory to the former member of Azingo National, Guy Mbinah, who died 7 years ago, noted the AGP.

Former club and national teammates, friends and children of the deceased paid tribute on the pitch of the Augustin Monedan stadium in Sibang to Guy Mbinah, nicknamed “Bebey”, who died on October 26, 2017.

“It’s been 7 years since he left us and his friends thought it was important to remember the times spent alongside him on the football pitch. We therefore judged that as former footballers, it was necessary to come together for this meeting and it is a feeling of satisfaction,” indicated Morvan Rosaire N’donba, president of the Gabon Footballers’ Association. (AFG).

“Guy Mbinah was a wonderful person, an affable man, always very close to his brothers and friends. After football, he moved into business, becoming the head of several companies, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to his brothers in need,” he added.

“Beyond his disappearance, as you can see, his blood brothers, football brothers and the men with whom he grew up, continue to have tremendous love for him. With this symbolic gesture, we can only say thank you. The whole family, through my voice, says thank you to these fathers who saw us grow up. Also, the family has a surprise in store for the tenth anniversary of his disappearance, so we hope to be able to find ourselves in such memorable moments,” confided Guillit Mbinah, eldest son of the former Gabonese international.

Let us remember that Guy Mbinah was a great figure in Gabonese football in the years 90-95. He was also president of the AFG.
