He started playing football in 1956 at the age of 15 and continued to play till 1974. In this, he has won 6 Brazilian League titles and 2 Copa Libertadores titles. He is the only player to win the World Cup three times. Pele has scored 643 goals for his team.
Pele underwent colon surgery last year to have a small tumor removed. After this, he has been undergoing chemotherapy since September 2021. His health had been failing for the past few days.
Meanwhile, he was admitted to a hospital in Polha, Sao Paulo province last Tuesday. While undergoing chemotherapy, his health continued to improve.
In this case, Pele was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital. Doctors are monitoring him regularly.
