For intra-party elections, Election Commission directs parties to submit applications to PTI

(24News) The Election Commission, while hearing the PTI intra-party election case, directed other petitioners to provide copies of their petitions to PTI.

A four-member commission headed by member Sindh Nisar Durrani in the Election Commission heard the PTI intra-party election case.

The KP member asked Akbar S. Babar whether he has also conducted intra-party elections. On this he said that we have not conducted any intra-party election.

Barrister Gauhar said that the High Court has stopped the Election Commission from passing the final order.

Member KP said that we do not have the authority to ask you to hold intra-party elections again, the commission directed other petitioners to provide copies of petitions to PTI.

Barrister Gauhar said that five petitions have been filed against the intra-party election, while Akbar S. Babar said that the Election Commission cannot direct another intra-party election for five years.

The Election Commission directed Tehreek-e-Insaf to submit a response to the requests of the petitioners.

Lawyer Naveed Anjum said that our case is related to submission of nomination papers, on which the commission said that we will hear your submissions first at the next hearing, after which the hearing of the case was adjourned till November 14.
