Tehran – In Iran, a woman has been elected to the head of a political party for the first time. According to the media, Azar Mansouri, 57, became general secretary of the reformist Ettehad-e Mellat (People’s Union) party. At the party congress, she was able to prevail against her male competitors in the internal election, according to the news portal Entekhab.
