Forgets rifle in cabin, Bolzano citizen reported: hiker finds it in Oclini – Bolzano

BOLZANO. A 54 year‍ old from Bolzano, after finishing​ a hunting tripalerted the Carabinieri of aldino by saying that he had accidentally ​left his Beretta 12⁤ gauge shotgun where he⁣ had parked the vehicle, in the Oclini area of​ the Municipality of Aldino, near the hotel car park.

‍ According to the complainant,⁢ the weapon was forgotten after a ⁢brief ⁢distraction caused ‍by a ⁣phone call.⁤ Having only noticed the absence of the rifle upon returning to his home, the owner⁣ returned to‌ the location without however being ⁤able to find the weapon as it had now gotten dark. Subsequently, he reported the fact to ‍the competent authorities, being in possession of ⁤a regular ⁤firearms license.

The police immediately activated ⁤the required procedures,forwarding the complaint to the judicial authorities and ⁢starting‌ investigations.

The lost rifle was then spotted by⁢ a hiker who recovered it and delivered⁤ it to the Cavalese carabinieri‌ station. ​Timely intervention ⁣and strict compliance with ⁢procedures allowed the situation to be resolved without incident.

The hunter was reported for violating the art.20 of⁢ Law 18.04.1975 n.110, concerning the failure to keep weapons.

The assessment on maintaining the requirements for​ carrying weapons is now being ⁤examined by the bolzano Public Security Authority.
