BOLZANO. A 54 year old from Bolzano, after finishing a hunting tripalerted the Carabinieri of aldino by saying that he had accidentally left his Beretta 12 gauge shotgun where he had parked the vehicle, in the Oclini area of the Municipality of Aldino, near the hotel car park.
According to the complainant, the weapon was forgotten after a brief distraction caused by a phone call. Having only noticed the absence of the rifle upon returning to his home, the owner returned to the location without however being able to find the weapon as it had now gotten dark. Subsequently, he reported the fact to the competent authorities, being in possession of a regular firearms license.
The police immediately activated the required procedures,forwarding the complaint to the judicial authorities and starting investigations.
The lost rifle was then spotted by a hiker who recovered it and delivered it to the Cavalese carabinieri station. Timely intervention and strict compliance with procedures allowed the situation to be resolved without incident.
The hunter was reported for violating the art.20 of Law 18.04.1975 n.110, concerning the failure to keep weapons.
The assessment on maintaining the requirements for carrying weapons is now being examined by the bolzano Public Security Authority.
