Former IAS Officer Sasikanth Senthil to Contest in 2024 Lok Sabha Elections for Congress from Tiruvallur constituency

Chennai: Former IAS officer Sasikanth Senthil has been given the opportunity to contest from Tiruvallur (Separate) constituency on behalf of Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The 4th list published by the All India Congress headquarters has names of 45 candidates. It contains the names of candidates for seven constituencies in Tamil Nadu.

Sasikanth Senthil in Tiruvallur (Private), K. Gopinath in Krishnagiri, Jyotimani in Karur, MK Vishnu Prasad in Cuddalore, Karthi Chidambaram in Sivagangai, Manickam Tagore in Virudhunagar, Vijay Vasanth in Kanyakumari are contesting.

The name of Sasikanth Senthil, a retired IAS officer and head of the Congress Party’s ‘Central War Room’, is Tamil Nadu Congress. The inclusion in the list of candidates has attracted attention.

Who is this Sasikanth Senthil? – Sasikanth Senthil is an IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre. During his career he has served as Collector of Chitradurga and Raichur Districts in Karnataka State. Apart from this, he has also worked in various fields.

Sasikant Senthil, who resigned from his job in September 2019, said, “The basic structures that build the nation are being destroyed. He had put forward the reason that they should be saved. Later he joined the Tamil Nadu Congress Party and was also the coordinator of the social media section of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee.

While former IPS officer and Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai was fielded by the BJP for the Karnataka assembly elections, Sasikanth Senthil was fielded by the Congress. He accepted the command of the party and took up the task of winning the Congress in the Karnataka elections. And he did it effectively.

He also raised his voice on social media on various important issues such as Hijab ban in Karnataka, corruption issue, cancellation of 4 percent internal quota for Muslims. All of them received widespread attention. After that, Sasikanth was also appointed as the head of the ‘Central War Room’ of the Congress party.

Recently there were reports that Sasikanth is likely to be appointed as the President of Tamil Nadu Congress due to his reputation at the top of the party.

In this context, Sasikanth Senthil has been given the opportunity to contest from the Tiruvallur (Separate) constituency on behalf of the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections to be held next month.
