Chennai: AIADMK has announced the removal of former minister Anwar Raja from the party for acting contrary to its policy principles.
Anwar Raja, who was the Secretary of State for Minorities in the AIADMK, was a staunch supporter of Jayalalithaa.
He was on the side of Sasikala after Jayalalithaa’s death and acted as a supporter of Edappadi Palanichamy after he went to jail. In this context, an audio release of Anwar Raja criticizing Edappadi Palanichamy caused a stir.
This caused a stir at the AIADMK district secretaries’ meeting last week. It was reported that there was a clash between Anwar Raja and CV Shanmugam.
In this context, it was announced that former minister Anwar Raja would be expelled from the AIADMK for acting contrary to its policy principles.
With the AIADMK executive committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow, the OBS-EPS alliance has announced that it will expel former minister Anwar Raja from the party.
