“Four hands” or “piano ensemble” is the name of the technique when 2 pianists play one instrument at once. It’s always bright, impressive and interesting! But it’s not as simple as it seems. After all, when playing in an ensemble, you need not only to brilliantly perform your part, but also to follow your partner’s part, hear it, and maintain the overall tempo. Moreover, both participants in the duet must play at the same tempo and in the same mood, so that “from four hands” one beautiful melody emerges.

This is exactly what was demonstrated at the evening at the International Mugham Center, where a concert of the piano duet “Təfsir” took place, organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and the Main Department of Culture of the city of Baku, Day.Az reports. The host of the evening was musicologist Ayten Adygezalova.

Pianist teachers from music school No. 35 named after Sharoev, laureates of international competitions Narmin Iskenderova and Sabina Mustafayeva presented works by Azerbaijani and world classics. Some works were performed in the country for the first time, causing applause from the audience.
