Thiruvananthapuram: Four RSS workers have been arrested in the case of Prakashan, a native of Kundamankadav and an RSS activist, who was accused in the case of burning the home stay of Sandeepanandagiri. Krishnakumar, Sreekumar, Sati Kumar and Rajesh, natives of Kundamankadav, were arrested.

The crime branch found that Prakash had hanged himself after being beaten up by them for allegedly having an extra-female relationship. The Crime Branch informed that the accused arrested in the case will be interrogated in the ashram burning case as well. His brother Prashanth had revealed that it was Prakash who burnt the ashram of Sandeepananda Giri. But later Prashant later changed his statement in the court.

Prakash committed suicide on January 3. Prashant’s disclosure was as what his brother disclosed before committing suicide. The BJP had come forward against the government by making the dead person a suspect.

On October 27, 2018, the ashram of Sandeepanandagiri at Kundaman Quay, Thiruvananthapuram caught fire. In the fire at the ashram, three vehicles including two cars were burnt and the ashram was damaged. After burning it, the attackers also placed a wreath in front of the ashram with the words “Adaranjali” written on it.
