Peter Bosz’s men did not exist this Saturday, in a friendly, against the Belgians of Anderlecht (0-3).
Lyon, betrayed by its defense, lost to Belgian club Anderlecht (3-0) on Saturday at Lotto Park in Brussels, after a friendly pre-season match. The Lyonnais, lacking concentration, very quickly conceded the opener with a goal from the Israeli Lior Refealov who victoriously took back a corner kick from the right wing in the 2nd minute. In the second half, Anderlecht, who enjoyed two more weeks of preparation than OL, doubled the mark, still from a corner, played from the left this time and taken over by Sebastiano Esposito (61st).
Throughout the game, OL encountered great difficulties, in defence, on set phases of play, corners in particular from which came the first two Belgian goals. Francis Amuzu made it 3-0 (80), a more anecdotal goal as Lyon had just changed their entire starting XI to bring in youngsters. Lyon, timid offensively and lacking binder, could have reduced the mark on an action by Alexandre Lacazette on which the goalkeeper of Anderlecht, Timon Wellenreuther, intervened well (66).
Faithful to his line of conduct, Lyon coach Peter Bosz relied on a stable base eleven to which he gave this time 75 minutes of playing time after giving him 45 against Bourg-en-Bresse (4-2), July 9 then 65, July 12 against Dynamo kyiv (3-0). This in order to be ready, at the level of automation, for the opening of the championship, August 5 against Ajaccio and a supposedly affordable month of August. Bosz, however, did without Maxence Caqueret and Corentin Tolisso in midfield, in care, but also the Brazilian Tetê, slightly injured, in attack.

This benefited his compatriot Lucas Paquetà who had played with the B team against the Ukrainian club on Tuesday in Bourgoin-Jallieu. For his part, Houssem Aouar, who is the subject of interest from Betis Sevilla and in care, was not called up for this match.
