PEOPLES. A rave party organized in a disused quarry in the Majella national park and about 40 young people from various municipalities in central Italy stopped in the night between Saturday (May 29) and Sunday (May 30) by the carabinieri.
The carabinieri of the Compagnia di Popoli, with colleagues from the Lettomanoppello, Manoppello and Lettomanoppello “Park” stations, intervened in the “Fonte del Papa” locality in the Municipality of Lettomanoppello. They surprised about 40 boys while dancing during an event unauthorized music, organized and promoted on social networks or in instant messaging groups. The military, after interrupting the event, identified the participants by making them go away with their vehicles and having their musical equipment disassembled.
The young people, reads a note from the carabinieri, will be denounced for the violation of the crime of occupation and invasion of land. They will also be charged with various administrative violations both of the anti-contagion laws that prohibit gatherings and of the rules for the protection and enhancement of forests as well as for the disturbance of animal species in natural parks.
