The president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn, announced on his social networks that the Mexican Gabriel Yorio, former undersecretary of the Treasury, is joining as vice president of said bank.

In his X account, Goldfajn said he was very happy with the decision and welcomed the new Vice President of Finance and Administration.

He highlighted that with his extensive experience in financial issues, and management of large teams both in the public sector in Mexico and in multilateral organizations, “Gabriel will provide invaluable experience.”

Yorio will assume the position effective November 16 and will be responsible for mobilizing and managing the Bank’s financial resources and providing support services, and ensuring the effective and efficient performance of staff in the areas of budget, financing, corporate procurement and administrative services. , reported the IDB.

Gabriel Yorio González previously served as deputy technical and financial assistance director at the National Bank of Infrastructure and Public Services of Mexico and debt manager at the Government of Mexico City.

He also held previous positions at the World Bank Group, giving him experience in the multilateral development sector. He has a master’s degree in policy management from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in economics from El Colegio de México.
