Gang members sentenced to up to 181 years in prison

Several gang members from the Normandie Locos Salvatruchos clique of MS-13 received sentences of up to 181 years in prison for committing various crimes.

Among those committed are: five cases of aggravated extortion, one case of aggravated robbery, 11 aggravated homicides, seven cases of proposition and conspiracy to commit homicide and terrorist organizations.

The victims of extortion are bus entrepreneurs who paid between $1,500 and $2,000 dollars a month, as well as motorcycle taxi drivers from whom they demanded between $300 and $700 dollars a month.

The crimes occurred between 2012 and 2017 in the districts of Alegría, Ciudad El Triunfo and Santiago de Maria. All of the convicted persons are being held in different penal centers in the country.
