In addition, after being selected as the best institution in the comprehensive integrity evaluation in 2023, it achieved an excellent grade in 2024, demonstrating high reliability for two consecutive years.

The achievement of creating a robot-friendly city through fostering and supporting the robot industry led to winning the local government innovation award. In addition, it won the grand prize at the Compact City Awards for its long-term plan to create a sustainable urban space.
Improving health and welfare through detailed resident-centered support policies

Gangnam-gu Mayor Cho Seong-myeong said, “These achievements are the result of listening to the needs of residents and pursuing creative policies to find future growth engines,” and added, “Based on these achievements, we will move forward into a city where all residents become owners and a sustainable 100-year city.” “We will accelerate the implementation of policies to get there,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gangnam-gu will change the names of Gangnam Youth Training Center and Yeoksam Youth Training Center to Gangnam Youth Center and Yeoksam Youth Center, respectively, starting in 2025, and will be reborn as a central facility in the community through various programs for residents and youth.
The municipal youth training center is a representative local facility used by 450,000 people annually, and has been loved as a youth development and leisure space for local residents. In particular, last year, we proactively responded to youth drug problems and actively engaged in activities such as participating in the drug addiction prevention declaration ceremony and training drug prevention instructors. As a result, both facilities were recognized for their excellence in youth program operation by receiving the Seoul Youth Facilities Association President’s Award on December 26.
In addition, Yeoksam Youth Training Center received the Prime Minister’s Commendation for its contribution to youth development and protection at the 20th Korea Youth Expo and the Korea Youth Training Facilities Association’s Model Youth Instructor and Facility Commendation, and Gangnam Youth Training Center received the Superintendent’s Commendation in the student volunteer activity category. It has continued to receive numerous external awards and has established itself as the best youth facility in name and reality.
Through this name change, the district plans to become more approachable to both residents and youth and leap forward as a community-centered facility. In particular, from January 1, the discount (30%) for families with multiple children was expanded from three children or more to teenagers with two or more children, allowing more families to enjoy the benefit.
In addition, we support the growth and participation of youth through ▲operating various education, experience, and daily sports programs ▲supporting youth clubs ▲operating youth social gathering centers ▲expanding youth participation organizations. In addition, we are planning to expand the swimming pool, sports programs, and cultural classes for residents, and also plan festivals with local residents, such as a children’s writing and drawing contest and an intergenerational swimming contest.
Gangnam-gu Mayor Cho Seong-myeong said, “I hope that the district youth center will nurture the dreams and passion of youth and become a space of communication and harmony that all local residents can enjoy together.” He added, “We will continue to promote healthy growth of youth and revitalize the community.” “I will do my best to contribute to this,” he said.
