Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province held a meeting of the “Gangwon Economic Analysis Collaboration Promotion Group” in the second half of 2024. On Tuesday, December 24, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae, hereinafter referred to as the ‘province’) held six meetings in the province, including the Bank of Korea’s Gangwon Headquarters, Gangwon Regional Statistics Office, Gangwon Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business Gangwon Regional Headquarters, and Gangwon Research Institute. It was announced that a meeting (luncheon format) was held in the second half of the year with economic-related organizations and the Gangwon Economic Analysis Collaboration Promotion Team.
The Gangwon Economic Analysis Collaboration Promotion Team has been held in the first and second half of each year since 2020 to actively respond to uncertain domestic and foreign economic situations and exchange information between professional organizations related to economic trends.
Through this meeting, the province shared recent major economic trends in the Gangwon region, including changes and implications of the status of self-employment in the Gangwon region at home and abroad and after the pandemic, and discussed future economic outlook and response directions.
Won Hong-sik, Director of the Economic Bureau of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, said, “It was a meaningful time to review the current status and major issues of the Gangwon economy through collaboration with economic-related organizations in the province, and we will continue to work hard to ensure stable growth of the Gangwon economy and revitalize the local economy through continued communication and cooperation. “We will actively pursue the policy,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gangwon Tourism Foundation (CEO Choi Seong-hyun) announced on Tuesday, December 24 that it had acquired international certification for the “Anti-Corruption Management System (ISO37001).”
Anti-corruption management system certification is an international standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), in which 162 countries participate. It establishes and operates a management system that can identify, control, and manage corruption and compliance risks that may occur in an institution in advance. The system is certified.
For this certification, Gangwon Tourism Foundation underwent a rigorous review, including document review and on-site inspection, by professional examiners from the Korea Management Certification Board. The company obtained international certification in recognition of its operating system and management capabilities that meet international standards.
Gangwon Tourism Foundation is leading the way not only in preventing corruption but also in promoting integrity and human rights.
