by time news

Garmin has been waiting patiently for the end of CES 2022 to announce its uninterrupted premium premium models: the Fenix 7 is of course the successor to the Fenix 6 and is designed for extreme sporting activities and field trips, while the Epix is a tough but tough watch. Even one that, according to Garmin, is suitable in its design for everyday use.

The Fenix 7 comes in three different sizes: 42 millimeters, 47 millimeters and 51 millimeters. Apart from the size of the case, there is also a choice between a standard model made of hardened plastic, a solar edition that is partially charged with solar energy, and a solar edition with a display protected by sapphire glass. In models with solar charging, the total battery time stands at 162 hours for the smallest model, 289 hours for the medium model, and no less than 578 hours for the senior model. All of these numbers – for reasonable use when GPS is turned on.

In addition, all three Fenix 7 models support the new L5 frequencies that allow for a higher level of accuracy and faster reception of the GPS signal. The watch can be activated via touch, however Garmin also leaves the multiple physical buttons on the sides. In the larger model, Garmin has added a powerful LED flashlight. The price in Israel starts at NIS 3,049.

Epix, a new model in the series that has not been updated since 2015, is Garmin’s first smartwatch that comes with a 1.3-inch color OLED screen, inside a 47-millimeter case. There is no solar charging here and the battery life is up to 16 days, but other than that it maintains the navigation capabilities, sports tracking and structural rigidity of other Garmin watches, along with a more elegant look and a choice between different designs for the time display. The price in Israel will start at NIS 3,949.
