German midfielder Joshua Kimmich, scorer Saturday night against Italy (1-1), admitted that Germany hoped for better for its first match in the League of Nations.
Following the 1-1 draw against Italy in Bologna, Joshua Kimmich, Germany’s midfielder who scored on Saturday night, reacted to the disappointing result on RTL Germany:
“We knew Italy were in a rebuilding phase, that they didn’t have all their players available, and we absolutely wanted to win this game, we didn’t. We did not manage to impose our game, did not put enough intensity, we hoped for better than that. Against England (Tuesday, editor’s note) it will be necessary to put more intensity, to remain calmer, to have more ball possessions and to be incisive in front.
