The German Interior Ministry said that Ukrainian refugees do not need to go through the asylum procedure, in addition, they will immediately receive EU protection for up to three years. On February 28, the German Interior Ministry reported that about 1,800 refugees from the conflict zone had arrived in Germany in recent days.

“We help quickly and without bureaucracy. Refugees from Ukraine do not need to go through the asylum procedure. They receive immediate protection in the EU for up to three years,” Ms Feather wrote in Twitter. According to her, refugees are helped to get quick access to health insurance and the labor market.

The Office of the UN Commissioner for Refugees estimates the number of refugees from Ukraine since February 24 at 660 thousand people. Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said that the EU is ready to accept all refugees from Ukraine.

On February 24, Vladimir Putin announced a military operation to “denazify and demilitarize” Ukraine. Western countries condemned this decision and imposed tough anti-Russian sanctions that affected large companies and banks.
