CHENNAI: Due to a combination of authorities and wholesalers, there is a shortage of ghee and butter in Aawan.
In Tamil Nadu, the shortage of milk has increased. Although the price of a packet of orange milk has increased by Rs 12 per litre, the increase in purchase price has resulted in a loss of Rs 2 in production cost.
Due to this, the production of ghee and butter has decreased. The ghee and butter produced are bought by wholesalers and sold to online trading companies and supermarkets. Due to this, shortage of ghee and butter continues in the palaks.

With the wholesalers, Aavin’s sales division officers are hand in hand and looking at the profits. As per the department’s key point recommendation, the high officials have been pushed to the point where they cannot be tapped as the officers have embarked on this course of action.
Thus, consumers are being cheated. At least, there is a need to take measures to provide ghee and butter etc. without shortage.
12 Change of manager
There are 21 regional offices in Chennai for the sale of Aavin products. Currently, 12 regional managers have been suddenly transferred amid allegations of low fat content and weight loss in milk. This step is said to be taken to boost sales.
