Gitex Africa Morocco: The global digital elite expected in Marrakech

The first edition of Gitex Africa Morocco will take place from May 31 to June 2 in Marrakech, with the participation of more than 900 exhibitors and start-ups as well as delegations from 95 countries. Led by the Digital Development Agency (ADD), under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, this event will bring together nearly 250 leaders from the public and private sectors, political decision-makers, investors and academics for three days of intensive public-private sector exchanges in the world’s future largest digital economy, organizers said in a statement.

“The Kingdom of Morocco is honored to host the 1st edition of Gitex Africa Morocco in 2023, an event that constitutes a real opportunity for our country to deepen the efforts made and the work carried out in recent years in the field of digital transition. and technological innovation”, underlined the Minister for the Digital Transition and the Reform of the Administration, Ghita Mezzour, quoted in the press release.

For his part, the CEO of ADD, Mohammed Drissi Melyani, also quoted in the press release, indicated that “the potential of technology on the African continent is unlimited and it is time to act. As a catalyst for Morocco’s digital transformation, ADD contributes to the promotion of innovation in many sectors, encouraging all partners in the ecosystem to ensure a smart digital transition”.

Major players in the Moroccan tech industry have also embarked on this long-awaited adventure, in line with their economic mission of unifying the North African nation, where 60% of foreign investment goes to Africa. Gitex Africa Morocco will have a strong schedule of cross-industry conferences such as the Gitex Africa Digital Summit and the Gitex Africa CEO Forum, where leadership dialogue and results-driven gatherings will take center stage.
