Gokseong-gun began promoting the region through experiences and special products at the Health Promotion Center at the Integrated Medicine Expo. Gokseong-gun carried out successful local promotional activities at the ‘2024 Korea Integrative Medicine Expo‘ held in the area of Lohas-ro, Anyang-myeon, Jangheung-gun for five days from the 18th to the 22nd.
This expo, held under the theme “Integrative medicine in the era of 100 years!”, consisted of a total of six exhibition halls. Among them, at the Health Promotion Center, 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do operated their own experience centers, and Gokseong-gun set up a wreath-making experience space using artificial roses with a special theme of “Make a rose wreath and walk only on flower paths~” to attract visitors. It was well received.
One senior who participated in the experience said, “I was so happy to be able to come with my granddaughter, make a rose wreath, take pictures, and create special memories.”
The county not only displayed fresh agricultural products such as melons, apples, and taro, as well as various taro processed foods such as taro noodles, taro rice powder, and taro manju, and conducted a taro snack tasting experience, but also distributed promotional items such as ‘Baeksemi’, the representative brand rice. The excellence of local agricultural products was also announced.
In addition, during the expo, the county will make every effort to promote the region by promoting local tourism resources, including the 24th Gokseong Simcheong Children’s Grand Festival, which will be held for four days from the 24th to the 27th, and providing information on donation benefits through the Hometown Love Donation System. tilted
Meanwhile, Gokseong-gun conducted a final on-site inspection at Seomjin River Train Village on the 22nd to successfully host the 24th Gokseong Simcheong Children’s Festival. This festival is scheduled to be held in the Seomjingang Train Village for four days from the 24th to the 27th under the theme of ‘A special day to give a gift to a child.’
Through this inspection, the military closely inspected the overall facilities required to run the festival, including the event venue infrastructure, scenery, and electricity. In particular, considering the convenience of visitors as a top priority, we focused on improving accessibility by improving information signs for restrooms and food zones, and supplementing the information system for the train village parking lot and nearby parking lots.
On Sangsuri-gil, at the back entrance of the train village, a new rest area made of eco-friendly wooden pallets was created, and a stroller rental shop and breastfeeding room for families with infants and toddlers were established. Additionally, wheelchair rental services will be provided for the convenience of disabled visitors.
In addition, especially during this festival period, admission is free for children under 12 years old. Visitors who wish to receive free admission can receive a free admission ticket by bringing proof of residence, such as a copy of resident registration or a family relationship certificate, to the train village ticket office.
A military official said, “We are doing our best to prepare and inspect the festival until the end so that everyone who visits the Gokseong Simcheong Children’s Grand Festival can enjoy it satisfactorily and safely.”
Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village, where the festival is held, is Korea’s largest train theme park with an area of approximately 240,000 m2 and is equipped with various train-related contents such as steam locomotives, little trains, and rail bikes, and is expected to provide special memories to family visitors.
