Gokseong-gun won the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Management Comprehensive Evaluation Excellence Award. Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it won the Excellence Award in the 2024 comprehensive evaluation of agricultural administration hosted by Jeollanam-do.
Jeollanam-do’s comprehensive evaluation of agricultural administration is evaluated by comprehensively evaluating the agricultural administration performance of 22 cities and counties in the province every year in order to increase the effectiveness of agricultural, forestry and livestock projects and promote creative policies such as discovering new policies.
This year, there are 41 projects in 6 fields, including agriculture and rural revitalization, eco-friendly agriculture development, food and horticultural crop production, agricultural product market expansion and agro-food industry development, environment-friendly green livestock development, and animal quarantine and livestock hygiene strengthening fields. The performance of each city and county was evaluated for each item, and excellent cities and counties, including Gokseong-gun, were selected.
Gokseong-gun received excellent evaluations across all six evaluation items, receiving particularly high scores in the fields of agriculture and rural revitalization, expansion of agricultural product sales channels, and fostering of the agricultural and food industry.
Meanwhile, Gokseong-gun (Governor Cho Sang-rae) announced that it was selected as an excellent organization in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluation of the ‘2024 Disaster Response Safe Nation Training’ conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety last October.
The ‘Safe Nation Training for Disaster Response’ is a training conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for local governments and public institutions across the country to check the response capabilities of related agencies and collaborative departments at each stage of response to disaster situations.
This year, Gokseong-gun changed the training type and location to prepare for various disaster situations, assuming a complex disaster situation of earthquake and fire, and held a disaster training event at the Gokseong Leisure and Culture Center’s multi-crowded facility with about 200 people including police, fire, military agencies and private organizations participating. Discussions and field training were conducted using the safety communication network (PS-LTE) with the participation of the group leader.
In particular, as public interest in electric vehicle safety has increased, the demonstration was conducted systematically and lively, including a demonstration assuming an electric vehicle fire situation and participation of 119 youth firefighters as a public participation group, and received a great response from residents and the evaluation team.
Gokseong-gun Mayor Jo Sang-rae urged residents to “adopt a safety lifestyle that involves checking risk factors around you,” and said, “I will make sure residents can live happily in an area where safety is guaranteed.”
