Golda ice cream exposed: severe sanitary deficiencies, are the customers in danger?

Contaminated kitchens, recycled ice creams, expired products, dirt and not a few alarming results discovered in the Ministry of Health’s raid on the leading ice cream parlors in Israel. News 12’s health and tourism reporter presented the findings in the savings plan that should concern everyone.

Among the chains tested, there was also the ‘Golda’ chain, perhaps the leading one in Israel, with 140 branches nationwide. As part of the investigation, a hidden camera was inserted into the kitchen of the branch in the Tel Aviv port, where the extent of the breach became clear. Among other things, it turned out that the sink was dirty. There are sanitation and cleaning deficiencies, failure to adhere to labels and dates, hygiene procedures, an abnormal result in the refrigerators, 60 unfit containers were destroyed, even though the laboratory tests came back normal.

The Lagenda chain was also tested, as it has 35 branches throughout the country. The inspectors discovered ice creams that are not fresh, products without dates. The inspectors sampled the ice creams and found an abnormal result in the amount of coliforms and a dangerous bacteria for the diners. Sanitary problems were found and during cleaning, 13 unfit containers were destroyed.
