Government of President Bukele launches strategy to consolidate the country’s economic growth

The Nayib Bukel Government continues to bet on the creation of strategies that attract investments to the country and generate more opportunities for creatives and entrepreneurs. This is how this past Tuesday, the Ministry of Economy launched the National Intellectual Property Strategy (ENPI).

The initiative will make it easier for creators, entrepreneurs and businessmen to protect their ideas, helping them market them safely, which will boost the economy and job creation.

“We are sure that there will be many benefits from this strategy, but one that is already tangible is the message that we are sending to local and international investors, of the importance that as the Government of President Bukele we give to the protection of intellectual property,” said the Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem.

The central purpose of the strategy is to promote creativity, innovation and invention, using intellectual property as an engine of economic growth and seeks to ensure that creations have protection and opportunities to attract investment.

The 2024-2029 strategy is the result of coordinated work between multiple public sector institutions. In addition, it has had the technical support and cooperation of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

“The idea of ​​a dynamic and sustainable economy is closely aligned with strategic objectives and a vision of intellectual property (…). “We are very pleased to work closely with their team and other members of the Government,” said WIPO Director Daren Tang.

This initiative entails the creation of the new National Intellectual Property Council, made up of the Secretariat of Commerce and Investment, Secretariat of Innovation, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Tourism and the National Registry Center (CNR). ).

The Government of President Bukele will continue to generate strategies that represent a commitment to the future of El Salvador, aimed at consolidating innovation as a pillar of sustainable development.
