President Daniel Noboa will try again to declare a state of exception due to the insecurity situation in the country, after the Constitutional Court overturned the previous two. The Presidency announced that a new state of emergency is being prepared and that this declaration will have the endorsement of the World Association of Jurists (WJA).
In a video released by the Presidency, members of this Association speak out in favor of the state of exception. José Estévez, one of its representatives, assures that the reasons that led to the first declaration persist in the country.

The Government will present the report issued by the international organization to the Constitutional Court for approval. The Court has canceled the last two declarations of a state of emergency. On June 14, he declared the ‘unconstitutionality’ of executive decree 275, issued on May 22, which established this measure focused on seven provinces and the Ponce Enríquez canton. Previously, the Constitutional Court also declared another Executive Decree unconstitutional, issued on May 1 for five provinces.
