‘Belia International Elevator Expo-2024’ and ‘Global Lift and Escalator Expo-2024’ are going on at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital. Domestic and foreign elevator and escalator manufacturers and marketers participated in the exhibition. Walton’s elevator, the leading manufacturer of electronic and electrical products in Bangladesh, has received a huge response there.
The expo was inaugurated on Thursday (October 10) morning organized by Bangladesh Elevator, Escalator and Lift Importers Association (BELIA) and Vargo Communications. Belia International Elevator Expo is coming down on Saturday (October 11).
Chairman of the country’s electronics giant Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC SM Shamsul Alam visited the Walton Pavilion at 12 noon on Saturday.
Ahsan Ferdous, deputy chief business officer of Walton’s elevator department, said that Walton is making elevators keeping in mind the needs and tastes of customers. If the customer wants, it is also possible to make the elevator as per their choice.
He said, we give utmost importance to safety. Walton elevators use certified levers, cables and electrical devices with safety in mind. If all the cables in the elevator were to snap (which it doesn’t, for the sake of argument) its sophisticated technology would lock the elevator and prevent it from falling all the way down.
Ahsan Ferdous said, if the speed of the elevator exceeds the programmed speed, it will be automatically detected and the elevator will be safely fixed on a floor. If the lift stops suddenly due to load shedding, many panic. Although then there is no danger. However, state-of-the-art Walton lifts will not stop between two floors even under loadshedding. It will stop on the upper or lower floor and the door will open.
Also, Walton has brought to the market complete glass door elevators. In this regard, Ahsan Ferdous said, many people are afraid of getting into the elevator because of suffocation, because of the closed space. This elevator thinks about them. So that they can see the outside environment, not feel suffocated.
Ahsan Ferdous said, “Our Walton’s elevators have innovations in the cabin floor, glass, ceiling, handle, cabin display and buttons.” One can use the fully automatic display in the cabin display in the elevator if desired. It has camera and card punch facility. If someone sets the program with face or card, then his face or card punch can get down to the desired floor. Besides, there will be touch buttons on that display.
In addition to elevators, AI technology refrigerators, fans, rice cookers, pressure cookers, blenders are being displayed in Walton’s pavilion. Various parts of the elevator are arranged there. The company supplies 15 percent of the country’s total demand for elevators.
Senior Deputy Director (Operation) of Walton Lift Unit Abir Mahatasin said, we have received good response in the previous fairs as well. This year we got more response. Besides, this time we kept the household products in the stall keeping in mind the premier customer. So that customers can buy these products in harmony with their homes.
Syed Nurul Hasan Sohan, head of Walton’s marketing department, said, “We have sold 20 units of elevator till Saturday afternoon.” Hopefully, more will be sold. Corporate clients are coming. Other clients are also coming. They have also shown interest in Walton’s home appliance and electrical solutions products besides elevators.
