The Ministry of Finance said yesterday that $ 720 million would be allocated for this purpose this financial year.
Each eligible family will receive a discount of $ 440 to $ 760 this fiscal year, depending on the type of home. The discount will be given in four stages. Discounts are available in April, July, October this year and January next year.
The Government has been issuing Goods and Services Tax Receipts since 2012 in three categories namely Cash, Medicare and U-Save.
From this financial year
Service and maintenance fees will be included in this list.
Families will receive twice as many U-Save discounts this fiscal year.
They will be given as a discount on electricity and water bills.
They have to pay a discount of eight to ten months for a one- or two-bedroom home
Electricity and water will be charged.
Discounts will be given to three- and four-room homeowners in exchange for three to four months’ electricity and water bills.
These allocations were announced during the budget tabled this year.
These provisions are part of the Improved Permanent Material, Service Tax Receipt Plan and Family Support Package Plan.
It was reported that the material and service tax would be raised by one per cent (from 7 per cent to nine per cent) every year for the next two years.
Two U-Save Issues will be given this month to single and double home stayers. This includes a $ 95 U-Save offer each time.
Twice the allowances will be given to those staying in the triple house. Each time they receive a U-Save offer of $ 85.
U-Save offer of $ 75 is available twice for four-room home stays.
