The Blue Origin company successfully carried out its fourth space flight manned, a ten-minute joyride beyond the planet’s atmosphere. The New Shepard suborbital rocket took off from the company’s Launch Site One base in West Texas at 8:58 a.m. local time (1:58 p.m. GMT). with six people on board.
The team included Gary Lai, chief architect of the New Shepard program, and five clients who paid an undisclosed fee for the trip. “I felt my skin tighten”Lai said, about the rocket ride. Lai’s inclusion came after comedian Pete Davidson’s participation was cancelled, without disclosing the reason.
