Chouinard’s NHL career spanned a decade, playing for the Atlanta Flames and the Calgary Flames after the team relocated in 1980. He amassed 575 points (193 goals, 382 assists) in 578 NHL games, showcasing his offensive talent and playmaking abilities.

Early Career and Draft
Atlanta selected Chouinard in the second round (28th overall) of the 1974 NHL draft. Prior to joining the NHL, he dominated the quebec Major Junior Hockey League, collecting 160 points (75 goals, 85 assists) in just 62 games during his final season with the Quebec Remparts.
