This is the highest budget film of Karthi’s career

Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan was a multi-starrer film but Karthi got the most screen space. The director took the story of the film forward through Vandiathevan played by Karthi. The actor is happy that his solo hero film Sardaar, which followed Ponniyin Selvan, is doing well. Now the makers have released a song from Sardaar.
The song starts with Inky Pinky Ponky and the lyrics are penned by Navva and Lokesh. The song is composed by GV Prakash Kumar and sung by Arivan and Santhosh Hariharan. The makers have released the lyric video of the song.
Sardaar is the highest budget film of Karthi’s career. Filming was completed in foreign countries. Karthi is seen in dual roles in the spy action thriller genre. Two characters are Kathiravan IPS and Sardar Shakti. Rashi Khanna is the heroine. Rajisha Vijayan and Bollywood actor Chunky Pandey play the lead roles. Laila, Sahana Vasudevan, Munishkanth, Murali Sharma, Ilavaras and Rithvik have also played various characters. Laila is acting in a film after 16 years. This is the Kollywood debut of Chunky Pandey. Written and directed by PS Mitra.
